Escorted HIKE to the Tourist Club and Lunch

A unique opportunity for up up 4 people to hike with Green Planet Films Founder Suzanne Harle to one of her favorite spots… the NATURE FRIENDS nestled along a hillside near Mt Tam. Locally known as The TOURIST CLUB, this international hiking club is a members-only clubhouse established in 1912. We will start the hike in downtown Mill Valley, up the Dipsea Trail, then detour off on the Sun Trail to the club. (1.25 hours). There we can relax, eat lunch and enjoy a soda, juice, craft beer or wine and board game on the deck overlooking Mt Tam and the redwoods. You will also get an insiders tour of the club and its facilities. Ms Harle has been a member since the late 1990s and is pleased to introduce new folks to this very special local gem. Priceless!

All Aboard the Skunk Train!

Half Day Trip to Northspur. Travel along the Noyo River Canyon on a vintage rail cruiser. This 3.5- to 4-hour round trip on our vintage rail cruiser departs Willits and begins the steep ascent (3.5% grade) to the summit of our line at 1,740 feet. Traveling through Tunnel No. 2, the trip descends into the Noyo River Canyon. In one spot, the vintage rail cruiser travels 8.5 miles to cover a straight-line distance of less than one mile in a serpentine of switchbacks. If capacity grows then we may substitute a diesel locomotive pulling coaches and an open air car.
Northspur is the midpoint of the railroad and is located 21.3 miles east of Fort Bragg and 18.7 miles west of Willits. This is the turnaround point for every train. If you are on a one-way or overnighter you will be transferring trains here at Northspur. Back in the day Northspur was one of the busiest logging camp in the Noyo River Canyon, housing a store, post office, and the Noyo River Apple Company. Today our concession services are open year round. Set on the banks of the Noyo River this large redwood grove has been welcoming passengers for well over a century.

Food and beverages are available in our concession car on each trip, with more options available seasonally at Northspur station. Valued at $122. Read more HERE
